Law Firms, Small Businesses Can Obtain Free Quotes for Nonlegal Business Needs

(December 28, 2000) -- Legal professionals, and other business-people can now buy business products and (non-legal) services at the FindLaw web site as the result of a new partnership between FindLaw and Onvia.com a business-to-business online exchange for small business buyers and sellers. FindLaw plans to launch another service early next year in which visitors to its site can obtain free price quotes on legal services and legal professionals can generate leads for their services. "Now, at FindLaw, they [lawyers or nonlawyers] can find the best nonlegal business deals even as they conduct legal research or read the latest legal news headlines," said FindLaw Cofounder Stacy Stern. "We are extremely pleased to be teaming up with Onvia to provide this service." Visitors to FindLaw's Small Business Marketplace, can "quickly and easily gain direct access to thousands of vendors and obtain free price quotes for services in a wide range of business categories, including accounting, insurance, telecommunications and travel," according to FindLaw.

"We are pleased that FindLaw has joined other companies in selecting Onvia for its syndicated exchange platform," says Glenn Ballman, chairman and chief executive officer of Onvia. "The Onvia Request for Quote exchange will provide FindLaw's users with an efficient online channel to get quotes for services and generate leads while providing Onvia the opportunity to aggregate the largest community of lawyers on the Internet into our buyer and seller database."
