(January 22, 2001) -- Search Engine Watch.com, the well-known resource for Web developers and search engine users, today announced its "2000 Search Engine Watch Awards" to recognize outstanding achievements in web searching said SearchEngineWatch.com editor and founder Danny Sullivan. Winners include Google, Dogpile and FindLaw. Awards were voted by readers of Search Engine Watch's monthly newsletter, the Search Engine Report, and its twice-monthly newsletter, the Search Engine Update. In December 2000, readers were invited to vote on their favorite services in three set categories ("Outstanding Search Service," "Best Meta Search Engine," and "Most Webmaster Friendly") and were also allowed to suggest other categories. The votes and suggestions were used by Sullivan to make his final decision for award winners. This is the first time the Search Engine Watch Awards have been given. The following is the
full list of winners. More details about each of the
award categories and judging criteria and runner-up
information is available at SearchEngineWatch.com. -end- |
