Every month the Internet For Lawyers' free Internet legal research newsletter delivers this kind of useful information to your e-mail inbox.

CarFax.com Adds Stolen Vehicle Information to its Report Database
CarFax.com recently announced that it is adding stolen vehicle data to its database of more than 1.31 billion unique vehicle records.

CarFax Vehicle History Reports can confirm a clean title history or identify serious problems with any used car, including salvage history, odometer fraud and flood damage.

"According to the Insurance Information Institute, a vehicle is stolen every 25 seconds," said Scott Fredericks, vice president of marketing for the Fairfax, Va.-based CarFax in a press release. "Statistics from both the Federal Bureau of Investigations Crime Index and the Insurance Information Institute reveal that higher-end vehicles are being stolen so the cost of vehicle theft continues to rise."

The company cited an estimate of the cost of vehicle theft of more than $7.5 billion last year.

CarFax Vehicle History Reports are available from CarFax via the internet for $14.99 for a single report, or $19.99 for two-months of unlimited reports.

Every CarFax Report that confirms a clean title history is backed by the $5,000 Clean Title History Guarantee. Contact the company at http://www.carfax.com/.
